PODCASTS

Exploring My Strange Bible - Sermons of Tim Mackie, one of the creators of the Bible Project.  (I love this podcast! I recommend starting with the series on the book of Matthew. You’ll get the full story of Jesus from birth to resurrection with amusing and insightful commentary.)

Joyce Meyer: Enjoying Everyday Life. The gold standard for relatable Bible teaching.

Heidi St. John Podcast. Highly topical, sometimes political (which I love) and candid with a Biblical world-view.

Christine Caine: Equip and Empower Podcast. Biblical topics and application to daily life.

Bible Recap. Read the Bible in a year with daily, brief, and insightful commentary.

Becoming Something. Biblical topics and application to daily life.

The John Bevere Podcast. Biblical topics and application to daily life.

Focus on the Family with Jim Daly. Interview show with a host of topics relating to family Christian life.

Conversations with John and Lisa Bevere. Conversations with these married Christian leaders.

The Jennie Allen Podcast. Topical discussions with this popular author and evangelist.

That Sounds Fun with Annie Downs. Upbeat topical discussions.

The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey. Upbeat topical discussions.

Whoa That’s Good Podcast with Sadie Robertson. Topics targeted for younger women.

Daily Inspiration: The Steve Harvey Morning Show. Fun motivational tidbits with a Christian flavor.

Unbiased: Okay, this one isn’t a Christian podcast, but it is a simplified explanation of national and international news events without the slant and bias. Yes, please!

Faith and Friction: For those times when you want to get weird and study the Bible simultaneously. Also, see Blurry Creatures. I’m not saying I agree with everything they say, but it’s fun entertainment with a Christian worldview that makes me think.

Girls Gone Bible: The award for best Christian podcast title goes to these ex-models-turned-evangelists. I admire their boldness and sincerity as they learn the word of God in a very public way. This is a great one to share with your Gen Zer. They don’t have all the right answers, but they do ask the right questions, and God promises that when we seek Him, we will find Him.

FAVORITE CHRISTIAN BOOK

A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23

I wasn’t planning to include books here, but I must share this one. It’s illuminating, lyrical and a comfort. Read it and gain a whole new appreciation for what it means to be loved and cared for by The Good Shepherd.
